Rosie McKenzie was born on Tuesday, February 26, 1935 , in Fox Point, Saskatchewan, and passed away on Monday, January 4, 2016, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, at the age of 80 years. Rosie is survived by her loving family, her companion, Leonard John Hardman, her children, Henry McKenzie, Nancy McKenzie (James Little), Norman (Francis) McKenzie and James (Cheryl) Tkachuk, her special granddaughter, Antonia McKenzie, her 58 grandchildren, 71 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren, as well as numerous godchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was predeceased by her daughter, Georgina McKenzie, her son, Julius McKenzie, her granddaughter, Rose A. Charles, her mother, Sarah McKenzie, her father, Abel Charles, her sisters, Nora Charles and Jean Roberts, her brother, Albert Stanley McKenzie, her step-brother, John (Rosie) McKenzie, her brother-in-law, William Charles, her sister-in-law, Caroline Roberts, her cousins, Mary Carlson, Jean Fiddler, Gilbert McKenzie, Tom McKenzie, Jacob McKenzie, Oliver McKenzie, Inez Prutten, Irene McDonald, Mary Custer and Hannah Charles, her 4 uncles and 6 aunties. A wake service will be held at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 5, 2016, at Kitsaki Hall in La Ronge, Saskatchewan. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 6, 2016, at All Saints Anglican Church in La Ronge, Saskatchewan, Reverend Richard Custer officiating. Interment to follow at the Anglican Church Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to River Park Memorial Chapel, Prince Albert, SK, Don Moriarty, funeral director, and Lac La Ronge Funeral Home, La Ronge, SK, Debra Klassen, funeral director.
