May 31, 1953 – September 4, 2010
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rosemarie May Isbister (nee Presley) after a long courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis. Rose is survived by her loving husband Hubert; her son Richard Isbister (Crystal Pellerin) of Calgary; her daughter Sherry Isbister (Ben Campbell) of Prince Albert; her step-son Rick Derzaph (Angie) of Edmonton; her seven grandchildren Kelso, Braden, Darian, Nathan, Brayden, Landon and Lauren; her brother Mike Presley (Sherry Wick) of Prince Albert; her aunt Marie and numerous cousins and her special friends who meant so much to her Val Isbister, Marian Primeau, Karen Disiewich, Brenda Bright, Carol McKnight and Shirley Miller. She was predeceased by her mother Margaret Ducharme in 2000. Rose was born in Makwa, SK and after graduating from Makwa High School in 1971, she started her nursing training in Saskatoon and Swift Current to become an L.P.N. After she graduated in 1972 she worked for two years at the Holy Family Hospital, then moved to the Victoria Hospital for the last 35 years. She was very devoted to her nursing career, and it was her life’s passion, as many people can attest to. She was very dedicated to her union C.U.P.E. and worked hard to make working conditions better for all L.P.N.’s in the Province. In 1972 she met the love of her life Hubert and was married in 1974. She was a great wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She gave us all great advice, support and unconditional love. We will miss her forever. Many thanks to the palliative care nurses and Donna Turner who took great care of Rose, and all relatives and friends who touched our lives. Your love and support is much appreciated. Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 9, 2010 with Mrs. Margaret Ferchuk officiating. Funeral Service will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 10, 2010 with celebrant Reverend Father Tuan Doan. Both services will be held at St. Mark Roman Catholic Church, 589 – 9th Street East, Prince Albert, SK. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Lung Association of Saskatchewan, 1231 – 8th Street East, Saskatoon, SK S7H 0S5. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray's Funeral Chapel, Marianne Turcotte, Funeral Director.
