TEER, Rosella Johanna (nee Bittman), 91, of Big River SK, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2021. Rosella, born on March 17, 1929, to Christopher and Kathryn Bittman in Fulda SK, was a well known and respected figure in her longtime home of Big River SK.
Out of necessity, she developed a feisty and determined personality which served her well as a leader in various groups and charities she presided over. Her faith was always a central tenet of her life but her joy was never greater than being surrounded by family.
Rosella grew up on a farm where she developed her love for gardening, a hobby that supported her family through good times and bad. With the loss of her husband James in 1967, Rosella became the head of a large family and rose to the challenge. Returning to school later in life, she took a dietician course which allowed her to move into a successful career with the Big River Hospital for 28 years. Following her retirement, she continued to be an active member of the community, well known for her Rosette cookies she would make for the weekly farmers market and her knitting and crochet works.
Predeceased by her husband James Teer in 1967; her mother and father Christopher and Kathryn Bittman, twin daughters Lucy and Louise at birth, her siblings Eleanor (Herb) Lueken; Lorraine (Mike) Klitch and Edwin Bittman. She was also predeceased by granddaughter Kelsey Teer and sister in-law Marguerite Teer her side-kick and best friend. She was also predeceased by her numerous Teer in-laws.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren: Samuel (Jean) Teer and their son James; Kathleen (Vic) Nording and their children David and Kimberly; John Teer and his family Nathan, Ryan (Shawna) and Jordan; Daniel (Donna) Teer and their children Landon, Rachelle and Krista (Colyn) along with their children Jesse and Peyton; Douglas Teer and his son Mitchell (Venus); Ron Teer; Evelyn (Baron) Smith and their children Courtney and Michael, her sister-in-law Margaret Bittman. She will also be greatly missed by countless nieces, nephews and friends.
