Rose Chenier

It is with heavy hearts that we share the sad news of the passing of Rose Chenier. Rose passed away peacefully on December 27, 2019 at the age of 72 with her loving family by her side after a long courageous battle with cancer.

Rose is survived and will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 49 years, Leon; children, Dean (Vickie) and Lori (Ron Locke); her 5 grandchildren, Jordan, Owen, Alyssa, Emelie and Ethan; her sibling, Archie Kozenko and many other special family members and friends. Rose was predeceased by her parents, Steve and Annie Kozenko; and her siblings, Mary, Irene and Peter Kozenko.

Rose was raised on a farm in Strong Pine, SK; attended David School and later went to High School in Meath Park and attended Prince Albert Technical High School where she completed her Commercial Course. She later met the love of her life, Leon, at a dance at Cloverdale Hall. A few years later they were married and started a family in Prince Albert, SK.

Over the years, whether it was through being the neighborhood Avon Lady, volunteering/coordinating Bingos, being a Party Lite consultant or the Hallmark consultant at Walmart; Rose made many lasting friends.

Her grandchildren brought her her greatest joy and she enjoyed watching them grow up. She was ever so proud of them in everything they accomplished. Rose will always be remembered for her sewing, knitting and crocheting of many blankets, scarves, toques and doll outfits.

There will be a Funeral Mass held for Rose on Thursday, January 2nd, 2020 at 1:00 p.m., at St. Michael Parish, 1505 13th Street West, Prince Albert, SK with Father DJ Vu and Father Jim Kaptein as Celebrants. She will be laid to rest at Memorial Gardens in Prince Albert, SK.
