With broken hearts, the family of Rosaline (Rose) Medwid, late of Meath Park, SK, sadly announce her passing on March 25, 2023 at the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert, SK.
Rose was born on November 11, 1947, on the family farm near Pelly, SK, to Mary and Dan Kinaschuk. Rose was the first of five children and she had a special relationship with each of her siblings; Dymetro, Sylvia, Verna, and Elaine. Rose married her soulmate, Eugene Medwid, in 1966. They began their life together in Prince Albert, later moving to Choiceland, and then settling in Meath Park. Rose and Eugene were blessed with 3 daughters and 1 son.
Baba was extremely proud of her eight grandchildren. Rose took great joy in spending time with them and her nieces and nephews doing crafts and baking. Many memories were made around the kitchen table where she would take the time to teach them how to make perogies, borscht, canning, and the traditional painting of the Easter eggs. At every birthday, it was with great anticipation to receive the infamous “Rose’s poppy seed cake”. Rose could always be found watching her children and grandchildren Ukrainian Dancing or cheering them on while they played sports.
Rose was extremely talented and sewed everything from Ukrainian Dance costumes to barbie doll outfits. She also had quite the green thumb and took pride in her gardening and flowers. Mom was also the family barber and hair stylist. Rose had a great love for animals, possessing an innate ability to bond with them. She enjoyed singing, dancing, and listening to music. Many times, a casual social visit turned into a kitchen dance party. She was an avid collector of salt and pepper shakers, with family and friends gifting additions to her collection over the years. Rose was patient, kind, and a very good listener. She was the cornerstone of the family – a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, baba, sister, daughter, auntie and friend.
Rosaline is lovingly remembered by her husband, Eugene Medwid; her daughter, Linda Krip and children, Brittni (Alex), Erika (Brennan) and Brooklyn (Gille); her daughter, Tammy (Scott) Buchanan and children, Ty, and Daxton; her daughter, Shelly (Jerry) Linger and children, Wyatt, Suzanna, and Von; and her son Darryl Medwid; as well as numerous other family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Dan, and Mary Kinaschuk; her sister, and brother-in-law, Sylvia and Russell Medwid; her parents-in-law, Teklia and Alexander Medwid; her son-in-law, Curtis Krip; and her brother-in-law, Robert Kabatoff.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.
