After a three year battle with brain cancer, it is with great sadness to announce the passing of Ronald “Ron” Frank Parenteau, who passed away on November 24th, 2014 at the Victoria Hospital surrounded by loved ones. Ron was born July 22nd, 1956 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan to Alphonse and Flora Parenteau. In 1979 he married Betty (née Cooke) and they had two sons, Ryan and Greg. His sons blessed him with becoming a Papa to three wonderful grandchildren; Staiden, Ryker, and Kenzie. Ron will be greatly missed by his wife of 35 years, Betty; his sons, Ryan (Shantel) and their sons Staiden and Ryker, and Greg (Katelin) and their daughter Kenzie; his siblings, Wesley Parenteau, Jeannette (Fred) Bernier, Marilyn (Vic) Evans, Mavis (Brian) Cowan, Erna (Felix) Mathieu, and Kendra (Stan) Smith; and his numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Alphonse and Flora Parenteau, and in-laws; Jim and Eva Cooke. A Celebration of Ron’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 29th, 2014 at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 260 – 25th Street East, Prince Albert, SK with Reverend Nora Vedress officiating. Interment will be held at a later date. Anyone wishing to make a donation may do so to Brain Cancer Research through the Canadian Cancer Society, 54 – 11th Street East, Prince Albert, SK S6V 0Z9.
