Ronald Christopher “Chris” Cain
November 30, 1943 – January 11, 2019
With heavy hearts the family of Chris Cain announce that he passed away peacefully on January 11, 2019 at the age of 75 years. Chris was born on November 30, 1943 in Alton, Hampshire, England to Bert and Ivy (nee:Ham) Cain.
Chris came to Canada in 1974 along with other family members settling in Holbein, Saskatchewan. He worked for many years building elevators for the Pool. He was always willing and able to lend a hand whenever he was asked. After retiring from the Pool, Chris did many different handy jobs and was mayor of Holbein for a time. He also looked after keeping the coffee place open every morning in the old Holbein store and post office so that local friends could get together. Though he was a bachelor, you would find no cleaner, neater house and yard than Chris’ anywhere. He was always cheerful and up for a good discussion. Friends and family were always welcome at his home.
Chris is greatly missed and fondly remembered by his family members and many friends. A memorial will be held at a later date.
