In Loving Memory of
Ronald Arsène Pelletier
(January 29, 1946 – August 31, 2025)
79 years old
It is with deep sorrow and love that we announce the passing of Ronald Arsène Pelletier, at the age of 79, at The Hospice at Glengarda in Saskatoon, after a courageous journey with prostate and bone cancer. Ronald was born on January 29, 1946, at the Holy Family Hospital in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, to Remi and Elise (Savidan) Pelletier. He was the fourth of five children and grew up in Duck Lake, attending Stobart School before continuing his studies at Collége St. Jean in Edmonton and completing high school in St. Louis. In grade 12, he met the love of his life, Pierrette Begrand, at a party. They married on May 31, 1968, in St. Louis. Together, they built a beautiful life grounded in love, faith, and hard work. Following in his father’s footsteps, Ronald pursued a career in carpentry, attending SIAST and apprenticing in Saskatoon with Jackson and Son before founding Pelletier Construction in Cranbrook, British Columbia. It was there that he and Pierrette welcomed their three children, Elise, Daniel and Roger. In 1974, the young family returned to St. Louis, eventually settling in their dream home across from the Notre Dame College. Over the next 47 years, Ron and Pierrette moved 18 times between Saskatchewan and British Columbia – always creating warm, well-built, and welcoming homes. In 2015, they built their retirement home in St. Louis, where they lived for 10 years before relocating to Saskatoon in early 2025 to be closer to medical help. Ron was a devoted husband, father, “Pépé”, brother, uncle and friend.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 57 years, Pierrette, and their children; Elise (Duff) Gray, and their children Dominique (Kobe) and Will of Saskatoon; Daniel (Sandra), and their children Morgan, Maddie (Tim), and Dawson (Jacynda) of Cranbrook; Roger (Miranda), and their children Mary and Sam, of Cranbrook. He is also survived by his siblings, Yvette Patrick of St. Louis, Albert (Janice) Pelletier of Cranbrook and Majella (Roger) Brown of Cranbrook. As well as his brothers-in-law, Ed Pelletier of Duck Lake, Roger (Diane) Begrand of St. Louis and Jerry Gurski of Saskatoon.
Ron was predeceased by his parents Remi and Elise (Savidan) Pelletier, his in-laws Henry and Rita (LeFrancois) Begrand, his sister Helen Gurski, brother-in-law Mike Patrick, sister-in-law Jocelyn Pelletier, and nephews Denis and Martin Patrick.
Ron will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his craftsmanship, his jokes, his humour, and his quiet strength. His legacy lives on in the homes he built and the hearts he touched.
The Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, Sept 6, 2025 at 1:30 pm at the St. Louis Roman Catholic Church, St. Louis, Saskatchewan with Rev. Fr. Phong Tran as Celebrant. Interment of the urn will foll at the St. Louis Parish cemetery. Reception is held at River Road Pizzeria. Memorial donations in Ron’s memory can be made to the Hospice at Glengarda in Saskatoon. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Marc Blondeau of Kushneryk Funeral Service, Wakaw, SK, 1-306-233-4403.
