McFee, “Ron” Ronald
June 26, 1938 – June 26, 2014
It is with great sadness that the family of Ron “Chief” McFee announce his passing after a long courageous battle with cancer on June 26, 2014 at the age of 76. Ron was an avid sportsman and was passionate about his P.A. Raiders and Saskatchewan Roughriders. His favorite teams only took the back seat to his granddaughters' sports especially soccer, in which him and Edith travelled across the country to support and cheer them on. He and Edith loved to spend their summers at Christopher Lake and he could often be seen with his fishing buddies Loch, Eldon, Brady, and Byzee or cruising the lake in his boat with his side kick, Edith. Growing up in a family of 8 children Ron loved family time, whether it was hosting family as guests or sitting around the camp fire at the lake or travelling to warm places with his beloved family Ron was all in. Ron is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Edith; his son Dale (Leanne) and his 3 grandchildren Jayde, Kacey, and Meghan who were truly his pride and joy. Ron will be fondly remembered by his sisters Pat Appleyard, Irene McElroy and Shirley King; as well as his brother Art (Audrey) and sisters-in-law Evelyn Hiebert, Caroline King and Gwen Sargent (Eldon), Irene Macmillan and brothers-in-law Harvey Macmillan (Eva), Bruce Macmillan (Audrey), Angus Macmillan (Joan). Ron was predeceased by his sisters Betty (Charlie) Lindsay and Ruby (Murray) Stewart; his brother Keith; sister-in-law Julia (Bill) King and brother-in-law Gordon Macmillan. Ron's grin could light up any room, he had a zest for life and a will to never give up. He will be missed dearly by all of those who were fortunate enough to know him. Ron, Dad, Grandpa, you are our inspiration, and we love you. You will live in our hearts forever. Memorial Service will be held at 1100 a.m. on Monday, June 30, 2014 at Gray's Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK with Wes Stubbs officiating. Interment will be held at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. In lieu of other tributes memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 54 – 11th Street East, Prince Albert, SK S6V 0Z9. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray’s Funeral Chapel, Lorne Adams, Funeral Director (306-922-4729).
