ROMAN ANDREW
(ANDY) WOLOSCHUK
Roman Andrew “Andy” Woloschuk, husband of Marie Thérèse “Terry” (née Bourdois) for 58 years, came into the world August 30, 1928 and passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2013. He was predeceased by mother Anna (1946), father Nicholas (1980), brother Michael and sister Julia Olesko (2005). Roman is survived by his wife and their 5 children Lorie (Mark Congram), Michael (Kathy Hill), Donna, Carol (Cameron) Bergen, Annette (Darren) Brockman; grandchildren Megan, Christopher, Bradley, Jordan, Keenan, Matthew, Zachary; sisters Olga (Andy) Sereda, Helen (Marty) Wilson and brother Dan (Violet). Beloved Dido came to Canada from Skala, Poland (Ukraine) in 1934. He arrived at the Port of Montreal and travelled west to join his father in Rosetown. At age 18 he left school to be a lineman with the Saskatchewan Power Corporation (SPC), helping to electrify large sections of rural Saskatchewan. He worked for SPC in roles of increasing responsibility until his retirement in 1983. He was a Knights of Columbus CL.2094 member for 53 years and an active member of St. Joseph’s Parish. In retirement Dido found joy staying close to home: puttering in his yard, tending his super-sized garden that fed many at fall church suppers and filled food bank hampers; kibitzing with clerks at the Co-op, Royal Bank and SPC; planning SPC Superannuates Christmas parties; looking after Keenan and Zachary; doing word search puzzles; and Wednesday coffee with the SPC guys. He enjoyed watching his impossible apple tree bloom every year, fishing, strapping on his spurs to help a neighbor trim their trees and feeding the squirrels and birds in his yard. Though he is no longer with us in body, he remains in our hearts and our approach to life. Loved forever. Missed always. A special thank you to: Dr. Halyk, truly a Family Doctor; to Colleen in Dr. Halyk’s office for her helpfulness; to Barrie Ballantyne (your help and friendship meant so much to Dad) and Les Anderson for his reassuring presence in Dad’s last few weeks of life. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 19 from St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 260 – 25 Street East by Father Roque Concepcion. The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Canadian Cancer Society or Heart & Stroke Foundation. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Donald M. Moriarty, Funeral Director
