Roderick Thomas was born on Tuesday, December 31, 1946 in Flin Flon, MB and passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2017 in Prince Albert, SK at the age of 72 years. Roderick is survived by his loving family: his love of 53 years, Liza; his daughters, Bonnie (Adolph) and Annabelle (Blaine); his sons, Arthur Thomas, Kenneth Thomas and Ernest (Angie); his 26 grandchildren, Kirsten, Kristie, Kelly, John Jr., Kerry, Krista, Keith, Keifer, Brendan, Jamie, Bianca, Brady, Brayden, Breanna, April, Katelynn, Stephania, Amy, Aivan, Blaise and Baby Brody; his 16 chapans, Trae, Drae, Marcus, Taylor, Tayla, Paisley, Comrie, Shawn, Josiah, Elizabeth, Carter, Seigan, Kylee, Mason, Kylynn and Aria; his sisters, Eva (Hubert) Ballantyne, Darlene (George) Michel, Lorna (Mike) Custer, Marlene Thomas and Loret (John) Cook; his brothers, Robert (Florence) Thomas and Gary (Debra) Thomas; and his brother-in-law, William Morin; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his children, Harriet (John) McCallum, Hilda Eninew, Roderick Jr., Micheal Thomas and Shirley Thomas; his parents, David & Ellen (nee Ballantyne) Thomas; his sisters, Lena (John) Sewap, Christina (Joe) Michel, Rita (Moise) Bear and Rosie Morin; his brothers, John Thomas, Peter Thomas and Joseph Thomas; and his nieces and nephews, Connie Sewap, Richard Sewap, Wanda Sewap, George Sewap, Victoria Canada, Melvin, Brian, Sheila, Martin, Kevin Michel, Justin Michel, Michael Custer and Arthur Morin. A prayer service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at River Park Memorial Chapel in Prince Albert, SK, Margaret Ferchuk officiating. Roderick’s funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Church in Pelican Narrows, SK. Interment to follow at Graveyard Island Cemetery in Pelican Narrows, SK.
