Robert Dale Martin, born February 23, 1950, to Vera and Vimy Martin, passed away surrounded by the love of his family. Dale was raised in the Parkside area and attended school in Parkside, SK, before completing high school in Shellbrook, SK

Throughout his life, Dale worked a variety of jobs, including in the seismic industry, road construction, and farming. Farming remained close to his heart, and he farmed in the Parkside, Canwood, and Shellbrook areas with his son Scott.

In 1973, Dale married Carol. Together they built a life centered around family, hard work, and community. They welcomed their son Robert Scott in 1974 and their daughter Kimberley Dawn in 1980.

Dale loved spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He never missed a family birthday, BBQ, or gathering, and those moments meant the world to him. He will be remembered for his dedication to family, his strong work ethic, love of animals and the many memories shared around kitchen tables, farmyards, and family celebrations. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Dale was predeceased by his parents, Vimy and Vera Martin; his parents-in-law, Helen and Norman Shillington; sister-in-law Caren Shillington; and brother-in-law Gary Shillington.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Carol; son Scott and children Jayde, Marissa, and Sam; daughter Kim (Jason) and children Emmalynn (Cody), Allison, and Dylan; brother Terry Martin; sister Sharon (Dan) Marek; sister-in-law Gail Boyko; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends.

Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 22, 2026, at Parkside Cemetery, Parkside, SK.

In lieu of tributes, memorial donations may be made in memory of Dale to the Whispering Pine Place Recreation Dept. (Box 418 Canwood, SK S0J 0K0) or the Shellbrook and District Health Services Foundation (Box 33 Shellbrook, SK S0J 2E0).
