It is with profound sadness that we said goodbye to our husband, dad, brother, and grandad. Bob passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at the La Ronge Health Centre.
Bob grew up in Saint John, New Brunswick. He is the eldest son of 14 children to William and Mona Walker. Bob left home when he was 21 to work for the Hudson’s Bay Company. This job took him to various towns across Northern Manitoba and Saskatchewan before he settled in La Ronge with his wife, young son, and newborn twins. Eventually, his career with the Hudson’s Bay ended, and he went on to work at the Amachewespimawin Co-op in Stanley Mission, where he worked for over 35 years until he retired.
Bob leaves behind his wife, Gail Walker. His son, Dan Walker, and his sons, Henry and Charlie Walker. His daughters, Meredith (Cory) Norman, and their girls, Julia and Halle Norman. Melissa (Jamie) Harbicht and their children, Ellie and Jacob.
Bob will be remembered as a loving Father and Grandad, who loved having a house full of his children, grandchildren, and dogs.
Bob had a love of travel, which took him to all corners of the world. His numerous hobbies played a significant role in his life, such as curling, golf, and daily walks along the BORA trails.
Bob was cremated, and a private ash scattering will be done with the family at a later date.
