Robert “Bob” Vernon Taylor
August 12, 1937 – July 26, 2021
The family of Bob Taylor sadly announce his passing on July 26, 2021, at Mont St. Joseph Home at the age of 83 years. Bob, born in Prince Albert on August 12, 1937, was the second of three boys born to Dorothy and Robert Taylor. Losing his father at a young age, Bob was surrounded by the love and support of a large extended family. He attended Connaught School and in 1963, married Lillian “Jean” Taylor, who remained the love of his life for almost 58 years. A natural salesman, Bob sold everything from shoes to houses to cars. Bob was actively involved in his beloved Prince Albert, holding positions in the Kinsmen Club and as Carlton Park Community Club President, as well a member of Calvary United Church, the Cardiac Rehab Walking Program, Seniors Heritage Centre, and was both a member and mentor of AA. Sports remained a love and passion of Bob’s his entire life. He enjoyed golf, curling, bowling, playing pool, baseball, hockey, and especially coaching his kids and watching them play. He was a huge supporter of the Prince Albert Raiders, cheering them on from his seats in section 4 or listening to them on the radio. Bob will be remembered as being loyal, sociable, friendly, hard-working and kind. He was an excellent fudge maker, and a great dancer who most notably possessed a remarkable sense of humor and a quick wit.
Bob was predeceased by his parents, Robert & Dorothy Taylor; and his older brother, Deryk Taylor. He is lovingly remembered by, his wife, Jean (nee Hunter); his daughter, Leslie (Rodd) Sawatzky; his son, Lance (Tanya) Taylor; his son, Christopher (Jolena) Taylor; his daughter, Lindsey (Darren) Lloyd; his grandchildren, Kennedy, Dawson and Brooklyn Sawatzky, Jackson Taylor, Chloe & Olivia Lloyd; his brother, Brian (Denise) Taylor; his sister-in-law, Christine Taylor; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, July 30, 2021, at Prince Albert Alliance Church, 2777 6th Avenue West. In lieu of other tributes, donations in memory of Bob may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 26 – 1738 Quebec Avenue, Saskatoon, SK, S7K 1V9, or Mont St. Joseph Foundation, 777 28th Street East, Prince Albert, SK, S6V 8C2.
