It is with great sadness that the family of Robert “Bob’ Lucas announce his passing July 29, 2024, in Prince Albert, SK, at the age of 75. Bob was born May 14, 1949, in Prince Albert, SK, to Cecil and Evelyn (née Burton) Lucas.
In Bob’s younger years he had adventures working in mining, and on the railroad, in British Columbia, Alberta, and Flin Flon, Manitoba. He then returned to Choiceland, SK, and spent most of his life living and working there. He enjoyed working for many years for Allan and Emmy Stensrud, a farming family in Choiceland, SK.
Bob never got mad. he accepted things as they were, always. He didn’t want to “bother” anybody. He was always supportive and helpful to others.
In 2013, he moved from Choiceland, SK, into an apartment unit in an eight-story building in Prince Albert, SK. He had many friends there and was always willing to drive them anywhere they needed or wanted to go…from a grocery trip, a bank trip, to Saskatoon for hospital appointments, to trips to Calgary, Lloydminster and other places.
Bob was predeceased by his mother and father, Cecil and Evelyn Lucas, and his much-loved Aunt and Uncle, Bob and Jess Lucas. He is survived by his very good friends, Harry Traub and Cindy Christensen, Maureen Adams, and many more; sister, Arlene (née) Lucas and her husband, Don Pippolo; nieces and nephews, Carrie (née Pippolo) Boileau and husband Marc Boileau, and Brad Pippolo and wife Amber Atkings; great-nieces and nephews, Hannah (née Boileau) Thompson and husband Jordan Thompson, Jake Boileau, Jessie Boileau, Jerica Pippolo, Nicholas Bandura and Dakota Anderson, Kali Atkings, Piper Atkings; and great-great-nephews, Jasper, Lucas, Ben and Rylan Thompson.
A private interment for Bob will be held at Crocken Hill Cemetery, Choiceland, SK, at a later date.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff on Level 6 at Victoria Hospital, Prince albert, SK, Rose Garden Hospice, Prince Albert, SK, and Beau “Lac” Funeral Home, Prince Albert, SK.
