Robert “Bob” James Dill was born on July 30, 1931, in Oxbow, SK, to James and Molly Dill. Bob passed away peacefully on June 23, 2024, at the age of 92. His early years of education were held at Alida District School after which he attended high school in Oxbow where he lived with his grandparents. He attended one year of study at St. Andrew’s College in Saskatoon before contracting TB. This led to a three year stay in the San and a lifetime of work in the health care field. After leaving the Sanitorium, Bob worked at the Christmas Red Seal Office, did Public Relations work for the TB Van and gave lectures on TB prevention. Eventually he gained the training to become an X-ray Technician, taking a position at Holy Family Hospital where he remained for over 30 years. He held deep fondness for this time and believed his health care work to be ministry. Bob loved music and was eternally grateful to Clara Danton who taught him how to play the organ. He enjoyed being a member of the Calvary United Church Choir in Prince Albert for 40 years, and served as Choir Director and the fill-in Organist throughout that time. Bob was a faithful attender of Worship and Bible study at Calvary United Church, a good friend to many who will be deeply missed. A special thank you to Linda and Vern Hodgins and Aileen and Rick Tiffin for their many years of support and friendship.
Bob will be lovingly remembered by his nephews, James Adams and Michael Adams. He was predeceased by his parents, James M Dill and Molly Lucile Dill; his step-father, Harold Hodgson; his sister, Dorothy (Rev. Melvin) Adams; his uncles and aunts, Samuel and Edna Dill, and James and Lilian Harrison; his cousin, Patricia Harrison; and his nephew, Douglas Adams.
A Graveside Service will be held at 1:30 p.m., on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at South Hill Cemetery, Prince Albert.
