Robert “Bob” Beauchesne
It is with sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert “Bob” Beauchesne beloved husband of Thérèse Beauchesne on Wednesday March 21, 2012 at the age of 86. Bob was born and raised in Albertville where he lived his entire life other than the last 4 years when they moved to Good Shepherd Villa in Prince Albert. He married Thérèse Dubé on August 3, 1948 and together they lived and farmed 2 miles from Albertville off of Hwy 355 – their farm was well know as “CHEZ BEAUCHESNE” Bob loved to farm his land and took great pride in everything he did. He received the good Farming Award for the RM of Garden River, P.A. Chamber of Commerce and P.A. Agricultural Society in 1966. He was on the Albertville Credit Union Board, following in his grandfathers’ footsteps (Emile Beauchesne) who was one of the founders of the Albertville Credit Union in 1916. He was also a member of the Wheat Pool Board as well as very actively involved in the renovations of the Albertville church in the early to mid 1990’s. He took part in many community organizations and functions and was always willing to help out where he could. He loved his farm, working the land, planted 3000 trees to form a shelter belt around his yard and kept the yard beautifully groomed. He loved to go fishing at nearby lakes and go on long walks with his dog. In the early years he spent 3 winters working in Buffalo Narrows where Thérèse taught school. He spent his winters driving a Bombardier for Waits Fishery. He often spoke of those days that he really enjoyed. Bob and Thérèse travelled to many locations throughout the years including to Disneyland, Spain, Las Vegas, 2 cruises, B.C and Mexico. He was predeceased by his parents Arthur and Marie Odina Beauchesne, his brother Fern Beauchesne, numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, family members and close friends. Bob is survived by his wife Thérèse, his sister Florence Casavant and several nephews and nieces. After gambling with farming all his life, and still having some gambling spirit left, in retirement his favourite pastime was spending time with friends at the Northern Lights Casino. A special thank you is extended to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Victoria Hospital for their excellent care, compassion and support during Bob’s week long stay. We would also like to thank the staff at Good Shepherd Villa for their ongoing excellent care and support. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 26 at the St. James Roman Catholic Church in Albertville by Father DJ Doan. Interment will take place in the St. James Roman Catholic Cemetery. Those wishing to make memorial donations are encouraged to consider the Victoria Hospital Foundation. Family and friends may send email condolences to www.riverparkfuneral.ca. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Don Moriarty, Funeral Director.
