Richard (Ric) Quon
Feb 24, 1966 – Jul 17, 2025
Ric was born Feb 24, 1966 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. He had struggled with cancer since 2024 and on July 17, 2025 he unexpectedly succumbed to it while at home near Stony Plain, Alberta.
He is much loved by his family and will be greatly missed by them and his many friends.
Ric enjoyed humor and found lots of chuckles and laughs as he journeyed through life.
He was a quiet man who loved fishing. His best friend and companion for years was his dog, Rufus, whose ashes he always kept with him. Ric’s perfect day would be Rufus and him fishing in his boat on a sunny summer day.
Ric is suvived by his son Terry VanHolland, his siblings: Corinne “Frankie” (Pat) Kilgour; Louise LaPlante; Lorn LaPlante and as well as his grandmother Vera Kessler, his aunts Shirley Kessler, Gwen Quon, Dena (Jerry)Wilson, Irene (Tom) Thompson, Louise Quon, Debora (Neil) McLeod, Sherry Quon, his uncle Stan (Margaret) Quon, numerous nieces and nephews and other family members.
Ric was predeceased by: his parents Allen Quon and Lynn Daniels; his grandparents Helena (nee Hotvedt) and Bing Sheun Quon; William (Bill) Kessler; his uncle Roderick “Rod” Quon.
The family plans to celebrate his life in 2026 – no details available at this time.
