Richard went home to be with his Lord on October 7, 2013. Richard is survived by his wife Yvonne (Pearson) Middlebrook; his daughter Tracy; his sons Derek and Dion; his grandchildren William, Christine, Ashlee, Timothy, Leah, Joshua, Braden, Mikayla, Cailyn and Kaden; his great grandchildren Marik, Aurora, Trystyn, Marcus, Rihanna, Jaynayah, Ryan, Jerri-Lynn, Tianna, Tara-lee and Layla; his three sisters Caroline (Art) Giesbrecht of Trochu, AB, Helen (Grant) Bodie of Edmonton, AB and Pat (Peter) Knudson of LaRonge, SK; his brother Rod (Rosalee) Alta; his special extended family Darren and Chris Kiefer and Helen Vera. He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Ellen Middlebrook; his two sisters Doreen and Laura; his son Monty and his great granddaughter Nevaeh. Richard was an avid outdoorsman, spending time hunting, fishing and camping, LaRonge and Jan Lake were his favorite fishing spots as he didn’t need a guide there. Richard enjoyed travelling and camping with his family across Canada and much of the United States. He retired from teaching after 32 years, teaching at Briarlee, Stanley Mission, Pelican Narrows, Weirdale, East Central and Christopher Lake. Richard bought a farm in the Meath Park area and built his home that he designed. Some of the building materials used were from logs he cut and made into lumber. Many happy hours were spent there and he resided there until his passing. A home much loved by his family and grandchildren. Many beautiful memories were made with Dad and Grandpa. Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, October 11, 2013 at the Crossroads Pentecostal Assembly, 1510 Olive Diefenbaker Drive, Prince Albert, SK with Reverend Thomas Harris officiating. Interment will be held at Prince Alert Memorial Gardens. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 54 – 11th Street East, Prince Albert, SK S6V 0Z9.
