Rene was known for his work ethic, generosity, teasing nature, and love of socializing. When not working, Rene enjoyed attending auctions and rodeos. As Rene’s health began to fail, he made the decision to retire. Rene continued life on the farm keeping busy with small projects like building and painting birdhouses. He also enjoyed camping, fishing, quadding, playing cards, and spending time with his grandchildren, family, and friends. An invitation from Rene automatically came with food and drink. Rene loved having the family together and was already planning this year’s Christmas meal. The holidays will be difficult without him, but his Christmas spirt will live on. Although, we cannot see him, he will forever be in our hearts.
The family would like to thank Spiritwood Home Care and the Shellbrook Hospital for their services. Thanks to Leanne Menke and Gisele Poirier for the music ministry and Father Maurice Fiolleau and Father Ramel Macapala for celebrating the funeral mass.
