‘He had a heart of Gold’
It is with the deepest sadness to announce the passing of our dear brother, son, husband, uncle, cousin and friend Raymond. A man with the biggest heart around, who loved everyone he met. Ray was very well known for his extreme kindness. He made a habit of ‘taking in the homeless’ as it broke his heart seeing people suffer and he wanted to help them. Some of Ray’s greatest highlights of his life were spending time at Waskesiu with his Grandma and Grandpa. There was nothing more special to Ray than his fishing trips with his Grandpa. From feeding the whiskey jacks to feeding the foxes to catching the biggest fish…that’s what Raymond loved. Later in life Raymond’s greatest passion was his inventions and his music. Ray was born in Prince Albert and went to school at Queen Elizabeth, PACI and Carlton High. Raymond had such a tight group of incredible friends in his school years. They stuck together through thick and thin. He was loved for his great sense of humour and loyalty. Ray is survived by his wife Kathy Carriere; his mom Shirley Carriere; his dad Sid Carriere; his sisters Angie Carriere and Shelly Carriere (Jeff Pratt), his brother Chris Carriere (Judy Mburu); his aunt and uncle Helen and Larry Huet; his nieces and nephews Zak, Kalli, Sheldon, Tyra, Katie, Mya & Tia; his cousins Kim and Kelly Huet; his biological father Jim Brown; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his Grandpa and Grandma George and Doris Walker and Rose and Aubrey Brown. Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 22, 2014 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK. Memorial donations can be made to Ray of Hope c/o Saskatchewan Advocates for Learning Solutions advocatesforlearning@shaw.ca. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray's Funeral Chapel, Lorne Adams, Funeral Director (306-922-4729).
