Raymond Andrew Davis

DAVIS-Raymond Andrew, late of Paddockwood, SK passed away November 14, 2010 in Prince Albert at the Victoria Hospital at the age of 87 years. Ray was born February 18, 1923 at home to Orpeth and Ellen (nee Weeks) Davis. He grew up on the family farm North of Paddockwood. In 1943 he joined the Army, Regina Rifles, Regiment and went to war. He spent three years in England, Belgium, Holland and Germany, where he was wounded. He returned home in 1946 and stared farming on his own, two miles east of Paddockwood. Ray met Hazel Pitton and married her November 2, 1949. Ray semi retired in 2008, but did some farming right up to the fall of 2010. Ray celebrated November 11, 2010 with his family in the hospital this year a time never forgotten. Ray leaves to mourn his wife Hazel; three sons: James of Paddockwood, SK; Brian (Janice) of Shellbrook, SK and Randy of Candle Lake, SK; daughter Karen of Paddockwood, SK; five grandchildren: Dustin (Shannyn) of Prince Albert, SK; Kirsten (Neil) of Canwood, SK; Tammy (Kevin) Paddockwood, SK; Savannah (Jamill) of Prince Albert, SK and Ryan of Prince Albert, SK; five great grandchildren: Bryce and Carter of Paddockwood, SK; Arron and Madison of Prince Albert, SK and Tye of Canwood, SK; sisters: Estelle Campbell of Kelowna, BC and Ellen (Micky) Hassell of Mackenzie, BC; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many other relatives. Ray was predeceased by his parents Orpeth Andrew and Ellen Davis; brother James Davis; sister Hazel Henderson; brothers-in-law John Campbell and Alex Henderson. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 19, 2010 at 2:00 pm at the Paddockwood Hall, Paddockwood, SK with Ray Beckman officiating. Veterans Honours will be conferred.
