Randy Whitter
1957 ~ 2026
Randell “Randy” Douglas Whitter went to be with his heavenly family, on Thursday, February 26, 2026. Randy was born to Doug and Signe Whitter, on July 19, 1957, in Prince Albert, SK, where he lived most of his life.
Randy spent his first working years in the family business, The Hill Grocery, stocking shelves and delivering groceries; it is also where he started his love affair with cooking and catering. He then went on to work in many different food endeavors in Prince Albert, Waskesiu and briefly in Manitoba, finally founding My Place Bistro and Catering in 2015 where he has continued to serve the community for the past 11 years.
Randy married the love of his life, Carol Ann Bettcher, on September 15, 1979, and they raised four wonderful daughters together.
Randy loved his family, his work and his community fiercely and wanted nothing more than to be able to improve the lives of those around in him in a meaningful way. He was a man who gave so much of himself to all who knew him, always offering a second chance or helping hand where he could whether in the form of a job, a meal or a donation of his money or time. To know him was to love him, he leaves behind a legacy worthy of remembrance and will be greatly missed.
He aspired to live his life in way that benefited those around him, and would often use this George Washington Carver quote for inspiration.
“No individual has any right to come into the world and go out of it without leaving behind him distinct and legitimate reasons for having passed through it.”
Randy leaves behind: his wife, Carol; his daughters, Adana (Cris) Thorne, Amanda (Jason) Hartman, and Lexi (James) Debnam; his grandsons, Cohen and Conner Hartman; his sister, Brenda; his sister-in-law, Val Whitter; and nephew, Kristian Whitter; and numerous beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Randy was predeceased by his brother, Wendell; his daughter, Tiffany; and his parents, Doug and Signe.
In lieu of other tributes, donations may be made to The Salvation Army – Plates of Hope .
