November 9, 1951 – October 28, 2010.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Randy Boschman. Randy went peacefully at the Victoria Hospital surrounded by his family. He leaves to mourn his loss and remember the good times, his cherished family: his beloved wife and best friend, Luella; his daughters, sons-in-law and grandchildren, Kerri and Kevin Kristian and their sons Morgan and Matthew, Sandi and Eric Tiessen and their son Logan and daughter Jenna; his brothers Arnold, Marvin, Willard and James and their families. Over the years, Randy wore many different hats both at work and at home. But his favorites were his fishing hat at Wapawekka Lake, his chef’s hat at home, his hovercraft building hat, and at the end, his favorite gray tuque. Randy was a voracious reader and a fountain of trivia, making Sunday mornings doing the Times crossword puzzle that much easier. Many hours were also spent on weekends scouring cookbooks looking for new things to try on the barbeque or in the smoker. Randy spent years researching and dreaming about building his own hovercraft. After surfing E-bay and a quick road trip to Salt Lake City, his dream became a reality, and after that, you could often find him at Ted’s shop, modifying it and putting on the finishing touches. Randy was a very quiet and private person, but had a quick wit and a dry humor that showed through at the most unexpected times. He was always one to listen and observe, rather than talking just for the sake of talking. It was Randy’s request that no funeral service be held, but that family and friends have an informal get-together to share some food, some laughs and some memories. Details will be announced at a later date.
Also in keeping with Randy’s thoughts, in lieu of other tributes, random acts of kindness would be appreciated. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray's Funeral Chapel, Lorne Adams, Funeral Director.
