Philip Louis Parenteau
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Philip Louis Parenteau on August 20, 2020. Phil was the beloved husband to Linda (nee Lehouillier), devoted father to Corey (Anne), Kristin (Chad) and grandfather/papa, to Gaige, Blake, Bo and Edie. Phil was born in Prince Albert on January 24, 1959 to Betty and Elmer Parenteau and was raised in Prince Albert along with his seven siblings. Phil is survived by his wife Linda, his children Corey (Anne), Kristin (Chad); his grandchildren, Gaige, Blake, Bo and Edie; his son-in-law, Lowell Epp; his mother, Betty and step-dad Wes Neepin; his siblings, Rick (Darlene), Donna (Chuck), Terry, Conrad (Val), Kimberly (Dennis), Angela (Lyle); his sisters-in-law Sherry, Evette (Ed), Denise, Marie (Ron); his brothers-in-law, Marcel (Debbie), and Denis; his best buddy, Ron (Doreen); as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Phil was predeceased by his father Elmer; his brother, Bill; his father-in-law Rene; his mother-in-law Germaine; his brother-in-law Dominique; and sisters-in-law, Claire and Pauline.
Phil married the love of his life Linda, on September 21, 1979 and welcomed their son Corey in 1981 and daughter Kristin in 1984. The kids kept them busy with ball, hockey and ringette. Phil loved sports and played ball and hockey most of his life. Family was everything to Phil. Most days he was either hosting a meal or going to visit family. He took great pride in his four grandchildren, always taking any opportunity to speak (brag) about them.
Phil found his true calling as a teacher. He could often be found volunteering to coach extra-curricular sports. Most recently he assisted coaching the St. Mary’s wrestling team. He also enjoyed being involved in the breakfast program at St. Micheals. Due to COVID restrictions the family will be having a Private Funeral Mass. In lieu of other tributes, donations in memory of Phil may be made to the St. Michael School Breakfast Program, c/o Prince Albert Roman Catholic School Division, 118 11th Street East, Prince Albert, SK, S6V 1A1.
