Peter, born May 28, 1920, lived out his life on the farm. in the District of Kalyna, north east of Prince Albert. He married his wife Sophie (nee Miazga) on July 27, 1952 and together they raised seven children. While a farmer at heart, Peter ventured into the lumber business in 1959 operating the first mobile lumber planer in the province; a true entrepreneur for the times. He continued to farm for many years, eventually turning the reins over to his sons while overseeing operations from the kitchen table. His greatest disappointment was having to give up his driver’s licence just prior to his 100th birthday. During his final days, he was happiest at the kitchen table with his family around him, knowing he was home
