Peter Giesbrecht was born August 16, 1926, Big River, SK and passed away September 1, 2018, Big River, SK at 92 years of age.

Peter was a hardworking man who loved the farm and all it entailed and the outdoors. When asked what he loved most in his life his reply would be “My wife and Family”. When asked what he loved after his family his reply was “The North” “Cowan Lake, Cowan Lake, Cowan Lake”.

Peter is lovingly remembered by: his Children, Sharon (Jim) Anderson, Garry (Janie), Laurel (Lee) Price, Anthony (Denice), Allan (Margret), Leslie (Meagan), & Families. Also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  He is predeceased by: his wife Betty, his parents, Bernard and Katherina, siblings, Ben (Margaret), Jake (Florence), Henry (Tilly), Tina (Sven) Modine, (Sid Holmes), Mary (Ivor) Fonos, Anne (Bill) Milligan, Walter Hegland) and Helen.

A Funeral Service was held on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Big River Community Hall, Big River, SK with Delores Beaulac officiating.  Reading was done by Ashley Price, the eulogy was delivered by Ashley, Keegan And Laine Price, Honorary Pallbearers were all those who shared in Peter’s life, and the Urn Bearers were Garry Giesbrecht, Anthony Giesbrecht, Allan Giesbrecht,  Leslie Giesbrecht, Lee Price and James Anderson.  Following the funeral service, all those in attendance were invited for lunch and fellowship in the Community Hall after a private family interment at the Big River Cemetery.  Memorial Donations may be made to the Lakewood Lodge Auxiliary in memory of Peter Giesbrecht as tokens of remembrance.
