Payton is survived by his loving family, his children, Gracie, Paydro, Paisley, Paxton; his brothers, Stephan Ballantyne, Burton Linklater, Roy McKenzie, Milton Linklater, Johnston Linklater; his sister, Joely Linklater; his aunties, Rita Custer, Pasty (Ronnie) Thomas, Nancy (Arnold) Dorion, Joanne Ballantyne, Barbara Ballantyne; his uncles, Wilard Linklater, David (Eleanor) Ballantyne.

He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph & Norma (Myra); his grandparents, Frank & Flora, Phillip & Cecilia; his chapans, Emile & Rosalie Linklater, Jacob & Mary Ann Charles, Solomon & Eliza Merasty.

The Prayer Service for Payton will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at River Park Funeral Home, in Prince Albert, SK, with Margaret Ferchuk officiating. The Wake Service will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at the residence of Joanne Ballantyne, in Pelican Narrows, SK. The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Church, in Pelican Narrows, SK, with Fr. Josi Chinthamalla, MSFS officiating.
