Olga Lazaruk
1934 – 2022
It is with sorrow and much love we announce our dear Olga Lazaruk (Kirychuk) passed away with her family by her side December 14, 2022 at the age of 88 years.
As many would say Olga was the sweetest kindest lady you would ever meet. She truly was, and that was evident right until her very last day. We will all miss her dearly.
Olga’s love for her grandkids and time spent with them was her greatest joy. We will cherish all of the memories made over the years. Steam kettle tents, soup, ginger ale and Vicks for when you were sick. Picnic parties on tv trays in the living room which would include favourite foods only Granny could prepare.
Road trips with her sister Mary. The girls would pack up the car and head out to one of their brothers’ homes. Visits would consist of laughing, singing and reminiscing of days past. She would have stories to tell for days upon her return. As everyone knows Olga always had a story to tell.
After Mom’s diagnosis and her inability to live independently she had a short time at the Bellevue Care Home. When asked how she liked her new home she would say “Oh I absolutely love it here”. The residents and the staff gave her much support, love and friendship. We are so grateful for you all.
We will love you always Mom, until together again. Olga is survived by her daughter Myrna (Darwin) Chubey, grandson Matthew (McKayla), Granddaughter Madison; son Robert Lazaruk; Daughter Marie (Warren) Champagne, grandson Blake (Samantha), great granddaughters Elliona and Siobhan, grandson Kirk (Jean); her brother Peter (Carole) Kirychuk; sister in-law Marlene Kirychuk and many much-loved nephews and nieces.
Olga is proceeded by her husband, Bill Lazaruk; her parents, Emil and Pauline Kirychuk; her brothers, Nick, Bill, Donald, Helmer, her sister Mary, and her nephew, David McGowan.
With Olga’s request we will have a private family farewell at a later date.
To the medical professionals that gave Mom such comfort and support during her illness. Dr May and the Ward 6 staff at the Victoria Union Hospital. We thank you.
