Olga Joubert (nee Michalchuk)
November 1, 1922 – June 23, 2014
It is with much sorrow the family of Olga Joubert announces her passing on Monday, June 23rd at the age of 91. She leaves to mourn, son Lionel (Ann) Joubert of California; daughter Sylvia (Don) Johnson of Saskatoon and son-in-law Don Riley of Saskatoon. Olga was blessed with four wonderful grandsons: Dwayne (Tracy) Riley, Darren (Tonya) Riley, Kevin (Debbie) Joubert and Troy (Kathy) Joubert and two great grandsons Curtis and Mitchell Joubert. Olga is also survived by her three sisters Mary Michalchuk of Prince Albert, Melvina (Walter) Pylypiuk of Vernon, BC and Gloria Donahue of Edmonton, AB. She was predeceased by her parents Joe and Stella Michalchuk; husband Joseph; daughter Dianne Riley; siblings John, Eva, Frank, Pauline, and Vivian; as well as numerous close friends. Olga was the third of nine children who grew up on the family farm near Bellevue SK. She married Joseph Joubert in 1947 and through married life lived in Saskatoon, Mattes, Big River, and finally Prince Albert. She enjoyed life to the fullest, spending summers at her trailer at Emma Lake, winters curling and socializing at the Heritage Club in PA, along with many other activities. She also loved travelling and never passed up an invitation by friends or family to tag along with them. She made many lifelong friends wherever she lived, and talked to them often. With deteriorating health and dementia Olga spent her last few months living in Saskatoon to be closer to her family. Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK with Margaret Ferchuk officiating. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 27, 2014 at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 260 – 25th Street East, Prince Albert, SK with Celebrant Reverend Father Roque Concepcion. Interment will be held at South Hill Cemetery. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 54 – 11th Street East, Prince Albert, SK S6V 0Z9.
