Olga (Gulka) Baranitsky passed away peacefully on Thursday August 4, 2022, at Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert, SK, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Olga was born June 9, 1936, in Sheho, Saskatchewan to Natalie and Philip Gulka. In Olga’s early years the family moved to farm in the Nipawin area, where Olga grew up before moving and residing in Prince Albert.
Majority of Olga’s career was at the Victoria Hospital, where she worked in the Pathology department until her retirement.
Olga was proud of her Ukrainian culture and parish St George’s Ukrainian Catholic Church. She enjoyed supporting the church and was a member of the UCWL. Olga’s faith carried her through many difficult times. Most of her life was spent serving others and doing volunteer work with the church.
Olga was predeceased by her parents, Philip and Natalie Gulka; brother and sister-in-law, Matt and Sophie Gulka; brother and sister-in-law, Harry and Rosaline Gulka; brother-in-law, Bill Komarnisky.
Olga leaves to mourn her daughter, Darlene (Jason) McCoshen; son, Brian Baranitsky; and granddaughter, Beth McCoshen; sister, Anne Komarnisky; and many well-loved nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Service for Olga will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at St George’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, in Prince Albert, SK.
