Office Assistant – Full Time – Casual (Up to 3 month term)

Summary:
The Office Assistant possesses strong keyboarding and data entry skills with attention to detail and accuracy. They demonstrate knowledge of basic office procedures, operation of standard office equipment, work as a team player with a positive attitude in a positive caring environment. Provides support to the leadership team and assists with professional administrative support in all office areas. This is an up to 3 month term position with opportunity for extension and opportunity for on-call casual work following the term.
Responsibilities
Administration Support– 50%
- Keyboarding – word/data entry processing
- Filing – hard copy, electronic records management
- Answer administration lines and direct calls appropriately
- Maintain financial and administration filing system
- Research and collection of data as required
- Assist with organization, planning and execution of awareness campaigns and fund raising events
- Cover Admin duties in absences
- Administrative support for Leadership Team for program delivery/preparations
- Assist with Group Health and Public Pension onboarding
- Troubleshoot office equipment
Financial Support – 50 %
- Daily scanning of invoices and upload to accounting software (training provided)
- Print off cheques as required and assemble financial support documentation (training provided)
- Document processing
- Cash handling skills
- Prepare and make bank deposits as required
- Collection of financial documents from leadership.

Expectations
- Strong keyboarding skills with high accuracy and attention to detail (Min 40 wpm)
- Quick learner for computer software for skill enhancement with data management
- Strong command of English

- Complete administrative documentation related to position duties, including outcome measurements, statistics, and expense claims

Qualifications
- A minimum grade 10 education with some experience working in an office environment.
- Must have basic computer competency in MS Office, Word, Excel, Outlook. Being self-taught is acceptable if able to pass a basic knowledge test.
- Experience and Education in business, finance or office administration is desirable.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, nights, and weekends.
- Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and computer skills.
- Must live within the service area of North East Outreach and Support Services (Melfort, Tisdale and Nipawin)
- Must be prepared to provide clear criminal records check and vulnerable sector check.
- Possess valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle required.
Wage Rate: $18-$22/hour
