NORMAN SUMNERS
Posted Feb 12, 2014 | 1:07 PM
Norman Sumners passed away peacefully in the presence of his family on February 8th, 2014. Norman was a loving husband and father and will be missed immensely by those he’s left behind. Norman was a passionate and caring teacher and coach, leaving an impression on those who entered his classroom, or played on his teams. He was especially glad to coach his kids and would always say how proud of them he was. Norman was known for his amazing sense of fairness. He would not allow anyone to be mistreated, nor would he give anyone special treatment. He was deeply invested in the STF and his counselling of colleagues and friends left an indelible impression. Norman loved The Toronto Maple Leafs, The Toronto Blue Jays, Manchester United and the Green Bay Packers and enjoyed sports of any kind, in all seasons. He was very devoted to the church he and his wife attended, volunteering and being involved whatever he could. He was passionate about travelling and took his family and even some friends all over North America, leaving with those who travelled with him the same desire to hop in a car and see the world. Norman loved his birds and his orchard, taking excellent care of both. He enjoyed stone masonry and his work can be seen all over Saskatchewan. Norman loved music and the arts, and passed this love on to his children. He was a man who will be greatly missed by so many. The Funeral Service will be held Saturday, February 15th, 2014 at 11:00 am in the Shellbrook Community Hall (Shellbrook Elks Hall). In lieu of tributes donations in memory of Norman can be made to MAK (Missions and Kids) with cheques payable to Shellbrook Pentecostal Assembly.
