Norman Hand passed away with his family by his side on August 3, 2016, at the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert, SK. Norman was born on March 9, 1939, at his home in the Perdue area. Norman is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Sylvia (née Voth), and their children, Sheldon (Karen) Hand and Leanne (Julien) Paradis, his grandchildren, Karalynn (Jeremy) St. Laurent, Eric Paradis, Kile (Jenna) Paradis, and Renee Paradis, his great-grandchildren, Ayden and Jessie St. Laurent and Ainsley Paradis, his sister, Freda Smith, and many loving brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas (Marian) Hand, his sisters, Lola Hand, Murial Hand, June (Glenn) Junop and Irene (Jack) Krevoshein, his brothers, Thomas (Carol) Hand and Bob (Frances) Hand, and his brother-in-law, Everett Smith. Norman worked as a mechanic for many years in Perdue, drove pulp truck, and owned the Esso Bulk station, Choiceland Transport, and Hand’s Service in Meath Park. Some of his favorite things were times at the lake with family and friends, teaching his children and grandchildren and their friends how to water ski, and cooking his famous ribs over the campfire for all to enjoy. His 1948 Chev car was his pride and joy and he loved taking it to car shows. Norman’s funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 9, 2016, at River Park Memorial Chapel in Prince Albert, SK, Reverend Chris Dow officiating. Interment will follow at a later date. In lieu of other tributes, please consider a donation in Norman’s name to a charity of your choice.
