Kay Weatherby passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 21, 2012, in Regina. Funeral service will be held in the River Park Memorial Chapel at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 27th. Reverend Norbert Haukenfrers will officiate. Kay is survived by her loving family: her children Sheldon (Judy), Lois Kenyon and Derryl (Cherie); her grandchildren Chris (Cindy) Kenyon, Karen (Joe) Mandel, Pam (Terry) Laycock, Lindsey (Danny) Fowler, Kyle Weatherby, Michele (Ziggy) Halat, Renee (Travis) Urbanski; her great-grandchildren Bailey and Kaylee Mandel, Sean, Liam and Caleb Kenyon, Alexa and Ella Laycock, Caidyn and Gavin Fowler; her sisters Joyce Powell and Thelma (Allen) Riach; her brother Ross (Adele) Arthur. She was predeceased by her husband George; Les Powell; son-in-law Jim Kenyon and parents Walter and Edith Arthur. Kay was born on July 15, 1924 in Kipling, SK. She graduated as a Registered Nurse from Holy Family Hospital in 1946. She first worked in Kinistino upon graduation where she met her husband to be George. They were married on June 30, 1948. Upon retirement from the Holy Family Hospital in 1982, after 36 years of nursing, Kay and George enjoyed travelling to different destinations. Kay met with fellow Nurses on a regular basis when she lived in Prince Albert. She enjoyed camping and fishing with her husband and spending time with her family, embroidery and crossword puzzles. Interment will take place in Garden of the Last Supper, Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. Family and friends may send email condolences to www.riverparkfuneral.ca.
