Nickolas “Nick” Michael Wasyliw of Prince Albert, SK, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2026, at Rose Garden Hospice, at the age of 92.

Nick grew up in the areas of Yellow Creek, SK, and Smeaton, SK, during the hard times of the depression and WW2. He worked hard with his family at farming, bush clearing, and production of specialty beverages. He then went on to an education at the University of Saskatchewan where he became a teacher. Nick married Marie and they moved to several rural areas as teachers in small schools. They grew as a family with the addition of their children, Garry, Michael, Shelley, and Marina. Nick then went to work in many positions in the Federal Government, retiring from the Corrections Department. During this time in his career, Nick had always maintained an interest in farming and retirement really meant taking up farming full-time. During this phase of his life, he met and married Jeanette, greatly expanding his family circle. He and Jeanette had many happy years together on the farm, which continued into their time at their condo in Prince Albert, SK.

Nick is survived by his children, Garry, Shelley, and Marina; stepchildren, Marlene, Elvin, and Sheila; brothers, William “Bill” and Richard; and sister, Elsie, and his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. He is predeceased by his parents, Nick and Ann; brothers, John and Pete; sisters, Iris and Susan; son, Michael; stepdaughter, Donna; and his wife Marie, and his wife Jeanette.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at St. Mark’s Parish, 581 9 St E, Prince Albert, SK. Interment will follow at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens, Hwy 2 South, Prince Albert, SK.
