Nettie Ellen Rebryna
June 9, 1941 ~ March 10, 2020
Nettie Ellen Rebryna (nee Dashchuk) went home to be with her loving Savior on March 10, 2020 at the age of 78 years. She passed after a long battle with dementia and cancer.
Nettie was born to Marina and James Dashchuk in Tisdale, SK, spending her childhood years in Somme, SK and her adult years in Prince Albert, SK. She was the youngest of 9 children and completed her school years in Somme. As a young woman she worked as a telephone operator and as a sales lady at the Blue Chain department store. She married Orest Rebryna on February 1, 1962 and they spent 43 happy years together. They became the owner/operators of Riverview Agencies where Nettie took on the bookkeeping.
Nettie loved to shop, drink coffee and loved to eat. She could grow the most beautiful tomato plants, and though she did not garden, she had a wonderful green thumb for indoor plants. Especially her African Violets! She enjoyed being a homemaker and loved her dogs, especially Trina, taking her for walks. Her and Orest spent many winters in Green Valley, Arizona and camping in Waskesiu often during the summer months.
Nettie was very strong in her faith. Her relationship with Christ and her trust in him as her Savior brought her much joy and carried her through the difficulties of life.
She is survived by her brother Bill (Vera) Dashchuk of Ingersoll, ON and her sister Christine (Ray) Toews of Saskatoon, SK.
She was predeceased by her husband Orest and her siblings Evolena Loff, Max Dashchuk, John Dashchuk, Anne Benson, Mike Dashchuk and Olga Scarf as well as her parents James and Marina Dashchuk.
