Myrtle Violet McKay

August 7, 1935 ~ July 25, 2020 

It is with great sadness that the family of Myrtle Violet McKay announce her passing on July 25, 2020 at the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert, SK at the age of 84. Myrtle was born in Fishing Lake on August 7, 1935.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Melvin McKay; her children, Shirley (Henry Shiers) Bonik, Shelley (Parker) Ross, Terry (Greg) Howat, Helen Schoenrock; siblings Josephine Fiddler, Yvonne (Gerald) Shiers, Gerald (Margaret) Deschambeault), Lillian Umpherville, Dennis (Joanne) Deschambeault; ones she raised as her own, Roxanne (Stephen) Black and Amanda (Timothy) Iron; her grandchildren, Carrie (Roger) Fehr, Cameron (Lisa) Bonik, Jimmy (Karla) Shiers, Jenny (Brent) Mageau, Raylene Bonik, Shantelle Fizzard, Nicole Bonik, Connie Fouquette, Billy (Loretta) Fouquette, Shawna Herman, Christopher (Booboo) Fouquette, Tyler Fouquette, Amber Fouquette, Jamie Schoenrock, Stephanie (Trent) Schoenrock, Joseph Ross, Kyle Ross, Lyle (Chayla) Howat;  thirty-six great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved chihuahua Deeno.

She was predeceased by her first husband, William Schoenrock, her son, Fred Schoenrock; her parents John and Laura Deschambeault; her brothers Willfred, Victor, Harold, Mac, Ben, and Marcel Deschambeault; her sisters Betty Deschambeault, Lorrine Deschambeault, Kathleen Cunningham; her brothers-in-law Kenny, George, David, Gerald, and Dale McKay; and her sisters-in-law Rosie Boyer and Freda Church.

A wake will be held Tuesday, July 27 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2020 at East End Rink – 300 12^th Avenue East, Prince Albert.

Funeral service for immediate family will be held on Friday, July 31, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Gray’s Funeral Chapel with Reverend Rick Reed officiating. A live stream to be broadcast at 2:00 p.m.at East End Rink.
