BARTON, Myron Samuel

December 13, 1940 – December 30, 2014

Myron passed away peacefully at his home near MacDowall, SK on December 30, 2014 at the age of 74, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.  Beloved husband of Hazel; loving dad of Patty (Lyle) and Rob (Leah); proud “GPA” to Cody (Nirosha), Jessica, Zach (Anna) and Jarret (Veronica), and older brother to Wilson.  He was predeceased by his parents Doug and Lillian Barton, and his father and mother-in-law Jack and Alice Peters.  Myron had a zest for life and was always looking for the next new venture.  Raised on a farm near Beechy, SK he was a pilot, entrepreneur, nature lover, trapper, advocate, inventor and “tinkerer extraordinaire”.  Myron will be dearly missed and always remembered by his loving family and his varied groups of friends. The family is deeply grateful for all of the support received from Prince Albert Palliative Home Care.  A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, January 5, 2015 at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 260 – 25^th Street East, Prince Albert, SK with Celebrant Sherry Ouellette.  Interment will be held at a later date.  In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to a Charity of Donor’s Choice.  Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca.  Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray’s Funeral Chapel, (306-922-4729).
