It is with heavy hearts that the family of Myrna Hoffman announces her passing at the age of 78.
Myrna Helen Grimm was the first child of Silfurn and Helen Grimm. She was born on August 30th, 1947. She had one younger brother, Elwood. Myrna attended Parkside Elementary School and then went on to W.P. Sandin in Shellbrook. While in high school, she met and began dating Harry Hoffman of the Meadow Grove District. Myrna lost her dad in 1965 but continued with her schooling and received her grade 12 diploma in 1966. After graduating, Myrna spent a small amount of time in British Columbia working at a cannery. Later that year, she returned to Saskatchewan and on November 12th, 1966, she married Harry. They began their married life together on the Meadow Grove Farm.
Over the years, Myrna and Harry worked tirelessly to grow their mixed farming operation. Life on the farm was definitely a struggle over the years with low prices, high interest rates, drought, frost, and a whole host of other challenges. They persevered and built something to be very proud of. They had two children, Richard and Corrine, whom they encouraged and expected to, work hard and get a good education.
Myrna was a hardworking, humble, farmer’s wife. She milked cows, drove grain trucks, operated machinery, chased cattle – the list of farming duties went on and on. She had a mind for dates and details like no other. Three days after their 48th wedding anniversary, Harry passed away in 2014. Myrna continued to live on the farm with her cats, dogs, wood furnace and garden. It was hard for her to imagine living anywhere else. She remained there until her passing and left this world in the place that she loved.
Myrna is lovingly remembered by her children and their families:

Corrine, Richard, and Anders Schwehr of Canwood SK
