It is with deep sadness that we announce the tragic passing of Murray Shand on April 8, 2026.
Murray was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia on February 2, 1975. In 1992, he made his way west to Prince Albert with his family, where he completed his high school education at Carlton Comprehensive High School. He went on to pursue his interests in both skilled trades and the arts, studying Auto Video Technology at Grant MacEwan University, Machining at SAIT and Photography at SIAST.
Murray built a dedicated career in the automotive industry, working at Riverside Dodge where he was respected in his role as Parts Manager. Known for his strong work ethic and willingness to help others, he formed many lasting connections with colleagues and customers alike.
Outside of work, Murray had a deep love for animals and was often found rescuing and caring for those in need. He had a naturally positive outlook on life and was known for his easygoing nature and kind spirit.
Murray had a passion for fishing and a remarkable talent for creating anything with a motor. He especially enjoyed building custom motorcycles, crafting unique pieces that reflected both his creativity and technical skill. His ability to work with metal allowed him to create one-of-a-kind masterpieces, some of which he generously donated to support causes such as SPCA.
Murray will be lovingly remembered for his creativity, generosity, and the joy he brought to those around him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His parents, Brian and Heather; brother, George (Candi); nephew, Cody (Lukadia) and their children, Parker, Heath; niece, Caitlin (Hayden); and uncle Carl Lewis.
