Murray Kornaga

Murray Kornaga passed away on Monday, August 21, 2017 at the age of 88 years. He was born on Sunday, October 28, 1928 in Nipawin, SK. He left Nipawin at an early age to pursue his career as a proud Iron Worker, which had him living in the four western provinces. Upon retirement he went back to the farm in Nipawin to take up grain and alfalfa farming on a part-time basis. Murray was predeceased by his son, Michael Murray Shane; his mother, Rose; his father, Albert; his sister, Lillian Kornaga; his brother, Ludwig; his sister and brother-in-law, Kay and Frank Vickaryous; his nephew, Allan Kornaga; and his niece, Elaine Rospad. He leaves to mourn his beloved wife, Dolly (nee Dunbar) Kornaga; his daughter, Kathy Gilmour and grandchildren, Nicole, Brooklyn, Shane and Kylen; his daughter, Karen Potts (Lindon) and grandsons, Koltan and Klayton; his daughter-in-law, Tammy Cowan Kornaga and granddaughters, Lacey and Kaileigh; his son, Dennis (Charlene) Kornaga and grandchildren, Andrew and Leeanne; his daughter, Colleen (Rick) Criss and grandchildren, Kelly, Katie (Rory), Kohlby, Ryerson and Peyton; his daughter, LJ and granddaughter, Lara LaMadrid, and great-grandchildren, Anthony and Eden, and grandson, David Lainoff, and great-grandchildren, Carter, Meyer and Archer; and his daughter, Beverley Whitford and grandchildren, Daniel and Emily. A Celebration of Murray’s Life will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 28, 2017 at River Park Memorial Chapel, Reverend Rick Martin officiating. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of River Park Funeral Home, Paula Hanson, Funeral Director.
