Muriel Morrison Rolles

Muriel Morrison Rolles (nee Dertell) was born May 6, 1911 in Wynyard, SK to Martha & Ernest Dertell. She passed away in Melfort, SK on August 16, 2012 at the age of 101 years.
Muriel started her teaching career at Flint School. After she married Arthur on October 23, 1936, they lived in the Naisberry Teacherage, then to the farm in the Berlin District. Later on they moved to the house on the farm. They spent summers on the farm and winters in the house in Star City. On October 12, 1939 their son Dale was born, but in 1956 he drowned.
They spent many hours camping and fishing. Muriel would take her book and read while Art would fish.
Muriel loved to travel. She went to Europe several times, New Guinea, the Maritimes, Expo in Montreal, all across Canada and spent some winters in the US.
Muriel is survived by her sister-in-law Florence Dertell; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Arthur in 1979; her son Dale in 1956; her parents Ernest & Martha Dertell; her sisters Eva Alexander, Helen Lyons, Hazel Lyons and Margaret Saretske; her brothers Ernest, Lee and Harvey.
