BRIERE-JACOBSON, Muriel. It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Muriel passed away peacefully on February 26, 2011, in Prince Albert, SK, with her loving family by her side. Muriel was born and raised on a farm in Albertville, SK, and spent most of her married life raising her family with Raoul on their farmstead. Forever a hard worker, Mom was always at Dad’s side clearing the land, doing farm chores, gardening, cooking, sewing and raising five children. She loved entertaining and took great pride in placing heaps of wonderful food before family, relatives and friends. Other great passions of Mom’s were travel, camping with family and playing kaiser. Left to mourn her passing are Muriel’s five children: Helene (Brian) Prediger; Henri (Dianne) Briere; Henriette Schultz (Lee White); Roger (Sharon) Briere and Diane (Gary) Hryhor; her 14 grandchildren: Jacqueline (Bruce); Jeannette (Trent); Lauren (Cheryl); Christy (Bob); Norman (Laura); Jamie; Dawn; Brian (Tracey); Michael (Tina); Etana (Tina); Brad (Tavia); Trent; Jeffrey and Meghan and her 11 great-grandchildren: Katrina, Lynnea, Carly, Kristen, Blake, Corwin, Kaitlynn, Dylan, Zachary, Ethan and Jordyn.
Also surviving are her sister Georgette (Rudolph) Gignac; her brother Paul (Sylvia) Lavoie; as well as numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Muriel was predeceased by Raoul Briere, her loving husband of 37 years; her second husband, Andrew Jacobson; her parents Napoleon and Delare Lavoie; her sisters Mariel, Jeannette, Simone, Florence and her brother Rene. We will miss Mom, and her memory will live with us forever. We, as a family, are very grateful to all the nursing staff at Palliative 5th Floor, Victoria Hosptial, Dr. Lombard, Victoria Hospital pharmacists, and Sister Renee who ministered to Mom with such loving care.
