Simone Marie Corfmat

1934-2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great‑grandmother, Simone Corfmat, on the morning of June 7, 2026.

Simone was born in Rivière‑du‑Loup, Quebec, and made Prince Albert her home in 1968 following her marriage to Prosper, with whom she shared more than 53 loving years. As a devoted homemaker and mother, Simone always put family first cheering at children’s sporting events, nurturing the household, and creating a warm, welcoming home. Her joy as a grandmother was evident to all; she was the loudest and proudest cheerleader in the crowd.

An avid gardener, Simone took great pride in her beautifully manicured yard and spent each spring delighting in the outdoors. Some of our most treasured family memories were made at Besnard Lake, enjoying nature and one another’s company.

Simone was a selfless and compassionate woman who dedicated her life to her family. She is lovingly remembered by her son Stephen Corfmat (Rona); her daughter Nancy Middlebrook (Dwayne); grandchildren Mitchell (Aimee), Eric (Monica), Mark, Brittany, Easton (Sydney), and Gabrielle; and great‑grandchildren Ava, Aurora, Aleigha, Julian, and Isabella.

She was predeceased by her husband, Prosper Corfmat (2021). In recent years Simone’s health declined, and she was cared for at Terrace Rose at Mont Saint Joseph, where we are deeply grateful for the kindness and compassion shown by the staff. We take comfort in knowing she is now at peace, reunited with Prosper, and singing her French songs once more.

Mom, our love for you will never fade.
