Shirley was born in Hudson Bay, SK on April 11, 1945. She married Gerry on October 9th, 1965. Shirley had many accomplishments throughout her life, including working at Armande’s for Jewelry, and she was extremely proud of being a Nutritionist at Turgeon School (St. Catherine’s) for many years. Shirley was well known for her baking and the ability to always provide a great meal. You never left Shirley’s house hungry. She was insistent on providing soup and goodies to the neighbor’s for the help they provided her throughout the years even when she was in hospital. Her home was always filled with laughter and people, as she hosted many a family function, card games, and sometimes just a visit and coffee time. She was a lover of music and enjoyed listening to many local musicians (including many family musicians). She loved to laugh with everyone and she kept her humor with her until the end. She wanted to personally thank the numerous friends, neighbors, doctors, chemo and palliative care nurses, as well as the staff at Rose Garden Hospice for being along with her on her journey and the wonderful care they provided her.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Rose Garden Hospice (https://www.rosegardenhospice.ca/ ) or Pancreatic Cancer Canada (https://pancreaticcancercanada.ca/).
A celebration of Shirley’s life will be held at a later date.
