Sheila Marie Alexander
Sheila was born February 1, 1934 to John and Sheila Kavanagh in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan and passed away in Regina, Saskatchewan on January 15, 2025
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Lawrence, and brother Jack.
Sheila is survived by her brother Robert (Carol), her son Mark (Cindy) and their children Todd and Trevor (Christine), and her daughter and best friend Holly. She is also survived by great grandchildren Colton (Kassidy), Maddison, Nolan, and Abigail; great great granddaughter Sadie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Sheila felt truly blessed to have her grandsons living next door. Lawrence and Sheila enjoyed attending their soccer games and taking them on fishing trips. Todd and Trevor benefited from their close proximity to their grandparents.
Lawrence and Sheila were married for 54 years. They wintered in Arizona for many years. In 1993 they decided that it was time to sell their acreage and move back to Prince Albert. They purchased a river front condo and enjoyed the benefits of condo living. Summers were spent at Waskesiu…Sheila’s favorite place to be.
After Lawrence’s passing, Sheila moved to Caleb Village in Prince Albert. In 2018, Sheila moved to Regina to be close to her daughter, Holly. Sadly, her health declined in 2019 and she moved into long term care within Harbour Landing Village. Many thanks to the caregivers who lovingly looked after Sheila.
Sheila retired from her position as Administrator of Operator Service at Sasktel in 1987 after over 35 years of service. She had been retired for over 37 years at her passing. Sheila loved her job and the people she worked with over the years.
Sheila enjoyed gardening, needle work, bus trips with her friends and attending figure skating events. Holly and Sheila attended many figure skating events over the years. The most memorable being the Canadian Figure Skating Championship in Ottawa in 1999 to celebrate Sheila’s 65th birthday.
Above all, Sheila was a dedicated mother and grandmother. She loved nothing more than spoiling her family at the holidays and cooking all of their favorite foods.
A Celebration of Sheila’s life will take place at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. Lunch to follow.
