Obituary for a Wonderful Mom Olga Martyniuk
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend at the age of 97. Surrounded by the love of her family, she left this world with grace, just as she lived.
Born in Europe, she immigrated to Canada at the tender age of 3, where her journey began in the wide open spaces of rural Saskatchewan. Life on the prairies wasn’t easy, but her resilience, determination, and unwavering work ethic helped her carve out a life not only for herself, but for the family she would go on to support and nurture with unconditional love.
A dedicated wife to her late husband, Alex, and a fiercely loving mother and sister, she gave her all to those she cared about. She had a wit that kept us laughing, a kindness that warmed hearts, and a brutal honesty that—while sometimes surprising—was always refreshing and real. Her anxiety only made her more endearing, a reflection of how deeply she cared.
Her attention to detail was unmatched—always perfectly put together with a coordinating outfit and one of her signature brooches, she reminded us that even in the everyday, there’s room for a little elegance.
She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, but we take comfort in knowing she is now reunited with her beloved Alex, surely sharing a laugh and watching over us with love.
Forever in our hearts.
No service will be held at this time.
