Mildred “Millie” Anne Martin
April 12, 1922 – October 30, 2014
Millie Martin quietly slipped away from this life on October 30, 2014 ending her long struggle with cancer. Along with the great sadness we feel, our family is left with many happy memories. Millie is survived by her son Ron (Dianne) Martin; daughter Janice Wilkinson; son-in-law Allan (Joanne Pierrard) Suetta; grandchildren – Kyla (Brett) Hoffman; Craig (Marney) Martin & Caden; Daryl Brandrick & Ryan & Mykayla; Tamara Brandrick (Shane Carriere), Alan Tomyn, Bree (Chris) Rusynyk & Zachary, Avery & Nolan; Holly (Chris) Pushie & Addison; step grandchildren, Shane (Nicole) Wilkinson; Cheryl (Gary) Nemish; Joey (Evelyn Ducharme) Wilkinson; step great grandchildren – Chassidy, Tristin, Adrian, Steven, Keegan, Karissa & Gavin. Sister in law Doris (Murray) McLaren; as well as many nieces, nephews and a very large extended ‘family’ of all ages who all treasured their time with ‘Grandma Millie’. She was predeceased by Roy – her husband of 59 years; her daughter, Beryl Suetta; her son-in-law Brian Wilkinson; brother and sister-in-law Howard and Mary Brandon; brothers Edward, Albert and Ernest (in infancy); her sister and brother-in-law Mabel and Peter Campbell. Millie was born in Bethune, SK on April 12, 1922 and lived in Dilke, Moose Jaw and finally Prince Albert where she met and married Roy Martin in 1943. They had three children, Ron, Beryl and Janice. Mom was employed in retail in Prince Albert for many years and on retirement became very active in the community, Wesley United Church and CanSurmount. She also had many years of enjoyment at her cabin at Christopher Lake with friends, family and grandchildren. A special thank you to Dr Schemenauer, Dr Stevens, Dr Spafford and Dr Bugliss, the nursing staff on the 5th floor and all others who gave her such exceptional care over the years. Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK with Reverend Tony Thompson officiating. Private Family Interment will be held at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 54 – 11th Street East, Prince Albert, SK S6V 0Z9. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca.
