MRS. MERCEDES BARDEN
Mercedes Barden (nee Brule) of Medicine Hat, formerly of Prince Albert, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2014 at the age of 86. She was born to the late Norbert and Eleodia Brule on June 4, 1927 at Prud’Homme, SK. On November 22, 1949 she married Stewart Barden of Clouston, SK, where they lived happily together on the farm for many years. Mercedes enjoyed family, friends, cooking, playing cards, and sharing a good joke. She also loved gardening, and dancing, and took great comfort in her faith in God. Her life was full of fun, laughter, and adventure with her husband and her family. Mercedes is survived by her three children: Val Kelly (Vern Vossler), Ray Barden (Ann Rohdin), and Jackie (Dale) Morgan. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren Shon (Naomi) Kelly, Kerri (Quentin) Reimer, Trevor (Crystal) Barden, Nicole (Rob) Brandoline, Jennifer (James) Wake, Leslie Morgan, Owen (Amanda) Morgan, and Dana (Jeremiah) Palmer, and 26 great grandchildren. Mercedes was predeceased by Stewart, her husband of 59 years. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 22, at River Park Memorial Chapel in Prince Albert. Father Travis Myrheim will officiate. Interment will take place in Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Donald M. Moriarty, Funeral Director
